The Church meets every Sunday morning in Broughton Junior School, Broughton Avenue, Aylesbury. We meet from 10.30am till around midday. There are free refreshments after the service, and a prayer team is available for anyone feeling the need for prayer.
We are a child-friendly church: we have a Family Worship service on the first Sunday of each month, with other Sundays being covered by Junior Church , run by an enthusiastic group of volunteers. On the third Sunday in the month we celebrate communion. There are activities during the week for older children.
Newcomers are always very welcome and we have crèche for the 0 to 3 year olds.
"First Sunday": Monthly at 7.00pm
What is First Sunday?
On the first Sunday evening of every month, we gather together at 7pm for a church service with a difference. "First Sunday" is all about encounter with God. It's a time of refreshing and restoration in which we aim to bring a more intimate time of worship. Most of all it's about giving the First Sunday entirely over to Him.
What can I expect when I come along?
We use different ways of expressing our love for Him and give a voice to our praise. We use a range of media, songs, readings and prayers to explore aspects of the person of God; the promises of His covenant; and His call on us to worship Him every day and in every way. Each service has a simple theme based on biblical truth but is presented in a contemporary and fresh way.
Who should come to First Sunday?
This service is open to anyone who wants to know more about God.
- If you want to worship and pray in an environment which is a little less formal,
- First Sunday is for you.
- If you are hungry for more of His Spirit and have a desire to see God move in our community,
- First Sunday is for you.
- If you are looking for company and a time of peace and healing,
- First Sunday is for you.
Everyone is welcome to join with us for this hour long act of worship and service.
Prayer
Prayer is important. On Sundays when we do not have an evening service we meet for prayer in the home of a member of the congregation. Details are given on the weekly notice sheet.
Groups
There are groups that meet to cater for young and older teenagers, both on Sunday mornings and in the evenings.
For adults wanting a more in-depth Bible study and a closer look at Christianity we have several home groups that meet during the week. This includes Monday and Wednesday evening groups and a group that meets on Tuesday morning.
